Braun's ThermoScan 7 (model IRT6520) is an infrared ear thermometer for home use on children and adults.

Who it suits

Notes before buying

• It will not work without a new genuine Braun LF 40 lens filter for every reading, so you will need to buy more filters.
• You must gently pull the ear for an accurate reading, which can bother a child with an ear infection (BabyGearLab).
• Beeps cannot be muted (Consumer Reports).
