Why this rating?Why this rating?
8.0 / 10Worth it
The set pairs four nesting cups with a clamshell squirter for SAR 64.22, works both dry and in the bath, and holds 4.7 out of 5 from 12,882 ratings.
Practical performance for the intended age is solid: stacking and pouring exercise fine motor control.
Quality and long-term scores are held back because the cups are simple plastic with no warranty or detailed care instructions in the listing, and because the age starts at three months when real stacking rarely happens yet.
There is no independent test we can rely on.
A good fit if
- Supervise closely during water play
- Age starts at 3 months, though real stacking usually comes later
- Follow the care leaflet in the box since the listing omits details

About the product
Overview
The Baby Einstein Ocean Explorers Opus's Stack & Stream Sensory Stacking Cups is a five-piece set built around four large nesting cups plus a clamshell water squirter. It is designed to move between dry floor play and bath play, so a baby can stack, nest, pour and splash with the same toy.
What is in the set
- Four large stacking cups, one of which is the Opus the Octopus cup that changes colour in warm water.
- A clamshell squirter for pouring or squirting water.
- Bright colours and varied textures across the cups to support colour learning and sensory exploration, as described by the manufacturer.
Practical benefit
Stacking, knocking down and pouring build hand control and cause-and-effect understanding as a baby sees what their action produces. Because the cups also work in water, one toy covers two different parts of the day.
Who it suits
- Babies from three months who are starting to grasp and bat at objects.
- Households wanting a small toy with no assembly and no batteries.
Things to know
- The manufacturer's recommended age starts at three months; at that age many babies will mouth and bat the cups long before they can stack them.
- Water play needs full, close supervision, and the clamshell piece is small.
- The listing records a weight of 210 g in plastic.
Care
The listing does not give detailed cleaning instructions, so follow the manufacturer's leaflet in the box, rinse the cups after water play and let them dry before storing.
